Call 911 if you have an emergency
The 84th Precinct encompasses four distinct residential areas within northwestern Brooklyn: Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Vinegar Hill, and the Farragut Houses. It also serves a varied business community, including the Fulton Street Mall, Atlantic Avenue, Court Street’s Lawyers Row, Montague Street, MetroTech’s financial and utility district, and the mixed-use commercial buildings and lofts within Vinegar Hill. Also within its confines are Brooklyn Borough Hall, the Municipal Building, the Brooklyn House of Detention, the NYC Fire Department Headquarters, the Board of Education, the New York City Transit Authority Headquarters, NYPD “911” Building, and the Transit Museum, as well as the Federal, State Supreme, Criminal, Civil, Bankruptcy and Family Court. Additionally, the 84th Precinct is a prime conduit for thousands of people commuting to and from Manhattan via major arterial highways, subways and local roadways, those traversing the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge.
