Neighbors - DOT has informed the community that the disruptive (i.e. noisy) work to remove concrete pavement is now expected to begin July 31. Work is limited to the hours of 1-5am. No pavement removal work is anticipated on Spans 4 and 34 during the week of July 24th. DOT will be on-site for noise monitoring, which should not exceed 85 decibels to comply with regulations set by the Department of Environmental Protection. Current Deck Work Schedule: Concrete pavement removal (jack hammering) will begin the week of July 31st due to scheduling fabrication of roadway plates. No pavement removal work is anticipated on Spans 4 and 34 during the week of July 24th. Work done this week on the Queens-bound BQE under single lane closures includes removal of existing striping and installation of new striping and signage required for the future. Future updates will include progress on concrete pavement removal. The project team is continuing to work with the Contractor to condense the schedule. This work will be performed at Span 4 (Grace Court) and Span 34 (Clark Street) simultaneously and is anticipated to continue through August. No weekend work is scheduled at this time. Please look for invitations to future “Office Hours” sessions. Please find the flyer detailing the work here. If you missed the earlier information session on June 29th, you can review the meeting on DOT's website or YouTube. The BHA will continue to update the community, but we recommend you join DOT's email update list by reaching out to Community Liaison, Anita Navalurkar at (347) 647-0876 or anavalurkar.consultant@dot.nyc.gov. |
