2025 promises to be a year where our local community keeps us grounded.  We hope you will continue to read our newsletters, follow us on Instagram and (if you aren't already) become a BHA member!  Here are some upcoming opportunities to stay involved.

The 2025 Brooklyn Heights Association Annual Meeting will take place the evening of  Thursday, March 6th at First Unitarian Congressional Society (119 Pierrepont Street). At this year's meeting, we will review our 2024 accomplishments, share our plans for 2025, honor our Community Service award winners and offer you the chance to ask questions about what's happening in Brooklyn Heights now and in the future.

Following the meeting, we hope you will join us for a short reception to enjoy some refreshments and the opportunity to connect with your neighbors in person.

One of our goals for 2025 is to further involve members of our community in the work that we do to make Brooklyn Heights a great place to live. As we are a very small staff, we rely on the support of community members to help get the good work done. 

If you are interested in learning more about the ways you can get involved, please email Kim Glickman by Friday, January 31st and we will add your name to our Volunteer email list. You won't have any obligations to sign up to volunteer, but we hope you will find something that meets your interests and availability.

Brooklyn Heights is an iconic place for capturing that memorable photo, whether it's the greenery, the cobblestone streets, the friendly smiles of neighbors or that perfect sunset over the East River.  If you have photos that you feel capture the essence of the Brooklyn Heights we all adore, we would love to see them.  Just email them to info@thebha.org. We are planning to include a photo of the month in our newsletters (and maybe more on our Instagram.) We will happily credit your artistry in the caption and tag you on IG.

Community boards are the most grassroots level of government, working across city agencies, elected officials and local leaders.  The role of community board members is to be sure the perspectives of the people who live and work in that community are incorporated into the decisions that will affect them, including housing development, public transit and sanitation. Brooklyn Heights is covered by Brooklyn Community Board 2.  Applications for NYC residents aged 16 or older are open until Feb 14th.  Apply here.
