An intimate evening in a private Brooklyn Heights home.

Join us and celebrate the arrival of spring at a gathering of neighbors and BHA supporters who care deeply about the sustainability and beauty of our community.

An annual tradition, The Perennial Party brings guests together for conversation, connection, and a shared commitment to the green spaces that define our neighborhood.

Your ticket supports the Brooklyn Heights Association’s work to care for and enhance our public spaces—from the Promenade Gardens to tree beds and plantings throughout our streets, including on Montague.

This year, we are so honored to welcome Meera Joshi, President of Green-Wood Cemetery and former NYC Deputy Mayor, who will share insights on the future of urban green spaces and their stewardship in Brooklyn.

Spring into Service with Us

Our annual Spring into Service event will be held next Saturday, April 25th. This is a great day of volunteer activities as well as an opportunity to clean our closets and donate to two great Brooklyn-based organizations:

Books for Kids and Teens for Brooklyn Book Bodega - We will be collecting new and gently used books appropriate for children 0-18 years old.

Baby Supplies for Little Essentials - Diapers, toys, clothing ages 0-5 years.

All items will be collected in front of Pierrepont Playground (weather permitting) from 10am-1pm. See donation guidelines.

Take Care of Montague Street - We have two activities happening on Montague Street from 10am-12pm: Help care for our street trees and a let's clean up Montague! These are great opportunities to give some love to our beloved retail corridor.

Make Sandwiches for the Community Fridge - Currently full, but you can join the waitlist, should spots open up.

Join our partner organizations, Friends of Hillside Dog Park and The Cadman Park Conservancy for some park cleanups. No sign up needed. Details here.

The Longest Table Returns May 16th!

Hurrah! We're bringing The Longest Table Brooklyn Heights back to Remsen Street on Saturday, May 16th.

From 12:30-2:30pm, Remsen Street from Hicks to the Promenade will be the scene of a free community potluck. We'll provide the seating, you provide the fare. Come by yourself, bring a friend, or host a table of 8 guests as a table captain.

Registration will open on May 1st. For now, just mark your calendar and check out our website for more details.

More Red Light Cameras Coming

Expanding Red-light Cameras: Improving Street Safety

Council Member Restler reported the following in his weekly newsletter,

"On Monday, I sent a letter signed by 20 Council Members to the Department of Transportation urging for swift installation of 500 new red-light cameras by the end of June. The City Council and the State Legislature approved the camera expansion last spring and DOT is installing the cameras too slowly over a nine month period. In our community, I’m pushing DOT to install red light cameras at some of the most dangerous intersections, including near the BQE on Atlantic Avenue and Old Fulton Street."

The BHA remains focused on improving safety on all of our streets through daylighting, traffic calming, increasing speed and red light cameras and other proven interventions. Thank you CM Restler for your commitment to these issues as well!

Good Day Pilates

We're excited to welcome our newest Neighborhood Partner to the program! Good Day Pilates (147 Montague Street, 2nd floor) is a reformer pilates studio created by physical therapists.
