Montague Open Streets returns this Sunday with a Back to School Party sponsored by Brooklyn Bridge Parents x Mommy Poppins powered by Community Offshore Wind. There will be over 40 free kids activities, games, arts & crafts, soccer, face painting, live music, fitness classes and obstacle courses.  RSVP here

Annual Candlelight Memorial Service this Evening

We remember all the lives impacted by the events that took place 23 years ago on September 11th, 2001. 

All are welcome on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade tonight at 7:15pm for the annual candlelight memorial hosted by the Brooklyn Heights Interfaith Clergy Association.
 
On Sale Now - Opening Night Party and Showhouse Tickets

Tickets are going fast for our Opening Night Party on Wednesday, September 25th beginning at 6pm. Get a sneak peak of the amazing work of 16 designers while enjoying tasty bites, delicious drinks and some quality time with your neighbors.

This is the BHA's most critical fundraiser. The money raised at this event enables us to continue all the quality of life, advocacy, and community engagement work we do for our neighborhood!  Buy your Opening Night Party Tickets here.

If you can't make the party, be sure to buy your tickets to visit the house at your leisure.  The Showhouse is open to the public from Friday, September 27th through Sunday, November 3rd.  Check the hours and buy your tickets here.

Interested in going deep into our designer's visions and creative process?  We are offering private, guided tours of the Showhouse Mondays and Tuesdays during the run of show. Tour tickets cost $60 and require a minimum group of 10 people. Gather your group and email us with the date and time that interests you.

Pickleball Tournament on Montague Street

On Sunday, October 6th, pickleball returns to Montague Street with three regulation courts (and a 4th court in the kids zone.) There will be open play available - bring your paddles and partner (or borrow our paddles and find a partner). 

In addition we are excited to host our first ever Pickleball Tournament!

Grab a partner and jump into the ultimate pickleball showdown. Compete for a chance to win bragging rights and some great prizes from Montague Street businesses.

Entry Fee: $20 per team

Format: Single elimination games to 15

Ages 16 and up and all skill levels are welcome

New Waste Containerization Requirements

Our city continues to struggle with a rat-infestation problem and Brooklyn Heights is no exception. NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is hosting five virtual training sessions through October.  Register here and learn about the City's resources for addressing the rat problem.

IMPORTANT! Beginning November 12th, the City will be requiring that all residential buildings with 1-9 units use a bin (55 gallons or less) with a secure lid for trash. The deadline to order an NYC-approved bin (which will eventually be required throughout the city) is October 1st. Order your bins today.

Upcoming BQE Lane Closure

Reminder - The NYCDOT will close two lanes on the Staten Island-bound BQE from Adams Street to Washington Street during the weekend of September 14th to September 16th. One lane will be available during the weekend for this stretch of the Staten Island-bound BQE. These lane closures are required for the installation of new pavement along the BQE (I-278).

Staten Island-bound BQE – only one lane available for entire weekend from Adams Street to Washington Street from 1:00 a.m. Saturday (9/14) to 5:00 a.m. Monday (9/16)
