June Fun on Montague Street

 

June Open Streets on Montague promises to bring lots of joy to our community. 

We hope you can save some of your Sundays to experience the car-free blocks filled with free programs and special events. 

Join us this Sunday, June 2nd to celebrate Pride. There are lots of activities in store including these highlights:

11am-12pm - Pop Up Class with Barry's Boot Camp.  Learn more and sign up

12-4pm - Make Pride Bandanas with Brooklyn Cat Café

12-5pm - Free ice-cream (with purchase) at Haagen Dazs

12:30-1pm - HYPE Kids Dance Party (5 and under)

1-4pm - Celebrate Le Meraviglie's 2nd Anniversary

1-2:30pm - 90 minute donation class at Orange Theory Fitness + join them afterwards at the Sip Spot 

1:30-2pm - WundaMat Pride Class.  Learn more and sign up

2-3pm - Brooklyn Irish Dance Co Performance

3:45-5pm - Siren Songs with Buoy the Mermaid Opera Singer

Remember:  Montague Street between Clinton and Hicks will be car-free on Sundays from 10am-7pm.  Please move your car from those blocks so that we can all enjoy the day!

Queens-bound BQE Closure This Weekend

There will be another full weekend closure of all lanes of the Queens-bound BQE from Atlantic Avenue to Sands Street beginning at 2 AM this Saturday, June 1st until 4 AM Monday, June 3rd to carry out necessary interim repairs. While it is highly recommended that you avoid travel by car, detours will be heavily signed and detailed maps can be found at the DOT website. This is anticipated to be the last full weekend closure for the interim repairs. Read below for more details.

Did you know that 1 pint of blood can save 3 lives?

The New York Blood Center drive was such a great success last year that we're brining it back again. 

The blood mobile will be at Montague Open Streets in front of St Ann's Church, Sunday June 9th from 11am-5pm.

This Monday: Celebrate 170 Years with the Brooklyn Women's Exchange

The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange is commemorating 170 years of championing and empowering independent artisans from Brooklyn and beyond.

To honor this significant milestone, the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange will host its 170th Anniversary Benefit on Monday, June 3 beginning at 6pm, at Saint Ann’s Parish Hall. Enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvres and a great community vibe.
