Back to School was never more fun than at Montague Open Streets!  Mommy Poppins and Brooklyn Bridge Parents pulled out all the stops and filled the streets with games, activities and entertainment for kids of all ages. We had a great time and hope you did too!

Coming up at Open Streets this Saturday, September 16th, the Cocktail Co-op returns!  Grab some food and drink from your favorite Montague business and enjoy it in this adults-only area filled with picnic tables and plants (greenery courtesy of James Weir Floral.)

Be sure to visit The Service Collective's table and learn how you can support our Community Fridge. Pick up a free one gallon kitchen composter (while supplies last).  At 4pm, enjoy youth music sensation JAW and then at 6pm, stop by Fred Astaire Dance Studio for their grand opening!

We hope you will enjoy this car-free day on Montague. Remember, if your car is parked on Montague Street between Hicks and Clinton, please move it by 10:00am Saturday so everyone can enjoy the day. If you are in need of vehicle transportation on Montague Street during Open Streets hours, please contact the Montague BID so accommodations can be made for you.

It's really important to protect this brand new turf from excess wear and tear, and we are asking for your help to make this investment last as long as possible and stay free of dog urine or feces. As a reminder - strollers and bikes are also not permitted on the turf field.

Park Enforcement Officers are on-site in the morning hours and are prepared to issue a summons to dog owners not respecting this rule. Please help by educating your friends and fellow-park goers about the rules. 

As a reminder, dogs are allowed off-leash before 9am and after 9pm at other spaces in our neighborhood (including the grassy areas surrounding the turf field at Cadman) plus we are lucky to have 3 dog parks in our community (read more about Hillside, Adam Yauch and Brookyn Bridge dog parks).

Montague Open Streets will take place every Saturday from 12pm-6pm through October 28th.  On September 30th, we will be hosting a Blood Drive in partnership with the Montague BID and CM Restler's office.  There are approximately 30 slots still open.  Please sign up today!
