Did you know that each helicopter produces 950 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour? As we have seen this week, climate change is here, and impacts all of us. It's more important than ever to support efforts to ban nonessential helicopter traffic over New York City. We are grateful to our elected officials, led by Representatives Jerry Nadler and Dan Goldman, for their recent powerful letter sent to Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams, demanding an end to the nonessential helicopter traffic from the NYC-based heliports. We thank Congresssmembers Nydia Velazquez, Adriano Espaillat, Yvette Clark, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, and Jamaal Bowman for signing this letter as well. Stop the Chop has been working tirelessly to advocate for these changes and to continue to drive awareness of the detrimental effects of non-essential helicopters on all of our lives. They are looking for volunteers to help them flyer this month.
