What a Weekend!

If you were in Brooklyn Heights this past weekend, you experienced first-hand the energy and excitement of spring weather AND 2 days full of amazing activities.

Saturday, Montague Open Streets launched with 6 hours of dancing, jumping and celebrating! This is the kickoff to 22 car free Saturdays on Montague Street. The BHA is thrilled to be a sponsor of these car-free days. Check out the line-up for this Saturday, which includes a 6 foot tall flower park and complimentary Mother's Day portraits!

Sunday, our Spring into Service ran 3 different events to care for our trees, support local food pantries and collect needed books and children's supplies. Thank you to our partners: CM Restler's Office, Big Reuse, The Service Collective and all the volunteers who showed up to work and bring donations. And a special shout out to DUMBO Moving and Storage who donated their truck and their time to collect and deliver the donations we collected for Brooklyn Book Bodega and Little Essentials. They are another true community partner!

Donate your Clothing, Linen and Fabric this Saturday!

Help divert fabric waste by bringing your unneeded linens, clothes, and other fabrics to the textile rescue event at The Watermark located at 21 Clark Street.

Bring your donations this Saturday, May 13th from 12-3pm to their café and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

The Bossert Scaffolding Returns

Unfortunately, as many of you have already noticed, the scaffolding at the Bossert Hotel has been reinstalled after a crack in the building’s facade was discovered. With the safety of our community as the top priority, we are also eager to have the repairs made and the scaffolding re-removed. We appreciate the efforts of CM Rester's office as they work with the Department of Buildings to ensure the work is done as swiftly as possible.
