We are pleased to announce four themed Brooklyn Heights walking tours. Led by a stellar collection of storytellers with deep expertise, these tours will explore fascinating and often lesser-known aspects of Brooklyn Heights history. The inspiration for the tour series is the 60th anniversary of Clay Lancaster's architectural guidebook "Old Brooklyn Heights," which was published in Fall 1961. Lancaster and others affiliated with the BHA led several notable tours in 1960-1961 as momentum picked up to landmark Brooklyn Heights as a neighborhood and establish a NYC landmarks law. The aim for this new series is to celebrate those 1960s tours by using the walking format they popularized while at the same time examining the past through a 21st century lens. This series of October weekend walks is curated by Jeremy Lechtzin, BHA Vice President and chair of its Landmarks Preservation Committee. All tours begin at 11am and will last approximately 90-120 minutes. Space is limited to 25 participants per tour so don't delay!
