What's looming on the far right side of this picture? It's a rendering of one of the new 32 feet tall 5G towers the city plans to place in neighborhoods across the city. In January the BHA sent a letter to the city objecting to, among other things, the city's failure to adhere to it's own requirement to “engage community leaders before installation to ensure that they are aware of the proposal, including the design of the poles and provisioning of service, and are given an opportunity to provide feedback.” Several other organizations, including the Historic Districts Council and the NY Landmarks Conservancy, which called the review process "chaotic and opaque" have also raised objections. We'll keep you informed as the process unfolds. |
