Thankfully, the new year will be here in a matter of days. While there is so much of 2020 that I’ll be glad to leave behind, time and again this year I was heartened to see the care that people in Brooklyn Heights showed one another - you contributed to Mutual Aid Societies and to the BHA’s own Brooklyn Heights Together effort, cared for your elderly and vulnerable neighbors, demonstrated your concerns over the inequities in our society, and so much more. I’d like to extend my thanks to all of you who looked out for one another this past year, and I know that we will collectively take that civic spirit and neighborly concern onward into 2021. The BHA is always grateful for your financial support, and truth be told, we rely on it! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our year end appeal. There’s still time to donate. If you haven’t made a contribution, I hope you will consider it today. We can now accept gifts of stock – please call the office at 718-858-9193 for details. Finally, save the date/time of February 23, 7:00pm for the BHA’s Annual Meeting. The online meeting will offer you the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates for the City Council’s 33rd District. Information about how to RSVP will be coming soon via email and on our social media feeds so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram @brooklynheightsassociation, and Twitter @thebhanow. Wishing everyone a happy & healthy 2021! Warmly, Lara |
