Just a short note this week to acknowledge and say thank you to the wonderful Brooklyn Heights community. While events in the wider world can make us feel overwhelmed and powerless, many of us turn to the things we can do right here at home to make our community a better place. We are our thankful for all the things you do to support each other, our beloved Brooklyn Heights, and our fellow New Yorkers. From gardening on the Promenade and at Cadman Park to donating coats, backpacks, and school supplies. From showing up and advocating for real climate and public health focused changes to the BQE to participating in curbside composting or bringing organics for collection at the Borough Hall Greenmarket. From demanding traffic calming measures on Atlantic Avenue to baking holiday pies for homebound neighbors. From helping the BHA to bring new small businesses to our neighborhood to supporting them by shopping local. From taking care of our trees and our dog parks to simply picking up a piece of trash or holding the door for a less-abled neighbor. Our community is what we ALL put into it. We are so grateful to be a part of this caring community, and look forward to continuing our important work with you. We wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving weekend! With love,
Katherine, Kim & Lara P.S. After you enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal, please remember to show some love to our Community Fridge by dropping off your leftovers or unused produce.
