Have you noticed that the helicopter noise seems worse than ever?

Help make a change by signing a brand new petition from our friends at Stop the Chop supporting the passage of Int 551.  This bill would close the two NYC-owned and operated heliports (Downtown Manhattan & 34th Street) to nonessential helicopter traffic.

This bill was introduced by our very own Councilmember Lincoln Restler and already has 26 cosponsors. 

Helicopters are bad for the environment, public health, and our right to peaceful enjoyment of our streets, homes, and parks.

Did you know that 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives? Due to the blood shortage in New York City,  the BHA is partnering with the New York Blood Center, CM Restler's Office and the Montague BID to host a blood drive during Open Streets.

While this event isn't for another 7 weeks, we need to have a minimum of 50 signs-ups in order to secure the blood mobile donation van for this day.

The Department of Transportation has announced a further delay to the start of disruptive interim work on the BQE cantilever.

This work is now expected to begin on August 14th provided the necessary steel plates are sourced by that time.
