We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Donald Pandina. Don, along with his husband Salvatore (Sal) Cigna were the owners of the beloved business Summa Gallery, which was located at 152 Montague Street for more than 25 years. Sal and Don were known for keeping their framing store filled with handmade flower arrangements and opera music.
A BHA Governor for many years in the late 1980s and into the 1990s, Don acted as a liaison between the BHA and many of the merchants on Montague, seeking to help Montague Street businesses weather the changes brought to the neighborhood by an influx of new residents--along with development in Downtown Brooklyn. The couple lived for many years on Henry Street, later moving to Monroe Place. The BHA is grateful for Don's service to the community and we offer our condolences to his family and friends. |
