Montague Open Streets & Subway News
 

Starting this weekend, the Montague BID and the BHA are hosting a series of car-free Saturdays on Montague Street. Bring the whole family for fun activities, music and more. Many businesses are offering promotions and discounts so check out the full line up here. This is a great chance to Shop Local for last minute gifts for mom!

PLEASE DO NOT park on Montague Street between the hours of 11am-9pm on Saturday. Your car is subject to towing. 

We know the weather for this coming Saturday is looking iffy, but as they say, the Show Must Go On! Put on your galoshes and we'll see you there. 
 
Ride the New Elevators at Clark St Station

No this isn't a spaceship or part of new jet. It's one of the new elevators at the Clark Street 2/3 station which opened last night! The Brooklyn Heights Blog shared this photo with us and they have more photos posted for your viewing enjoyment. 

Next up is Court Street. The Court Street R station elevator replacement project will begin May 6, and is scheduled for completion in early Fall 2022. Normal schedule for work will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 

You will still be able to access the station at Court street and the R train will stop there as normal. However, the entrances on Montague and Clinton will not be open while the work is being done.
 
Free Compost Distribution  
 

Join DSNY, Friends of Hillside Dog Park, and the Brooklyn Heights Association for a Compost Distribution event on Sunday, May 8th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 

Stop by Hillside Park and learn how DSNY is turning your food scraps and yard waste into finished compost and to find out how to participate in the Curbside Composting program. You can take home up to three (3) 40-lb bags of free, high-quality New York City compost made from NYC food scraps and yard waste. 

Supplies are limited and registration is required. Please be prepared to transport bags without assistance.
