Join us for our annual meeting on February 24th at 7pm on zoom.

If you can't be with us tonight, we will be recording the meeting so you can watch it later. 

The meeting will feature two fantastic guests in a conversation about climate change and what must be done now to address it.

In addition, we will be presenting Community Service Awards to the founders of the Brooklyn Heights Community Fridge, and to Amerika Williamson.

The Brooklyn Heights Community Fridge is a true grassroots community initiative with beautiful results. Darryahn Knight first suggested the idea to Rev. Adriene Thorne, James and Caroline Koster brought it to a new level (James designed the structure and Caroline handles publicity) while Jenny Astrachan serves as community liaison who works with farmers, local restaurants and schools to keep the fridge well stocked. But many more were involved in the construction and continue to contribute to this wonderful initiative. 

America Williamson has been bringing Santa Claus, singing and a beautiful tree to the Promenade since 2009 -- thought the tree lighting tradition itself started in the 1950s. After a COVID and scaffolding hiatus last year we were thrilled Amerika came back! Too often we take these celebrations for granted... and we forget all the work and enthusiasm it takes to bring everyone together and bring warmth and cheer to a chilly winter night.
