NEWS FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Egg Hunt Begins at 10:30am Saturday in Pierrepont Playground

Photo Mary FrostThough the thermometer may suggest otherwise, spring has officially arrived. A sure sign that spring weather is approaching is the annual Egg Hunt that the BHA is sponsoring on Saturday, April 6th in Pierrepont Playground.

The Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. But not to worry.  Eggs will be replenished for those who come a little later.

Parents can buy a hot cup of coffee and baked goods and will have an opportunity to catch up on the latest community news with their neighbors.

The proceeds from the bake sale support the Egg Hunt and other family-oriented playground events throughout the year, and also fund the locking of the playground every evening at dusk.

If you can volunteer to assist at the event, please sign up here.

Dispose of Harmful Household Products Safely on April 7

The City’s Department of Sanitation is sponsoring a Safe Disposal Event so that homeowners can dispose of harmful household products in an environmentally safe manner. The event will take place Sunday, April 7, 10 AM to 4 PM, at Prospect Park’s Park Circle at the corner of Parkside Avenue and Prospect Park South. Cars can enter along Parkside Avenue from Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Road.

DSNY will accept such products as auto fluids, batteries, electronics, strong cleaners, medications, paints and more.  Please do not bring appliances, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and tires.

DSNY requests that products brought for disposal be clearly labelled, not mixed, and tightly sealed.

The event is open to NYC residents only.
