On March 3rd, Master craftsman and brownstone conservator Jack Pontes and NYC Landmarks Preservation Commissioner and architectural conservator Michael Devonshire will share their deep knowledge of the history, materials, landmarks approvals, must-dos, and best practices related to the repair and replacement of brownstone stoops, cornices, balustrades, and more.

Panelists:
Michael Devonshire, Partner and Director of Conservation at Jan Hird Pokorny Associates, Inc., is an architectural conservator with 38 years experience in the field of historic preservation. He is skilled in materials analysis, conditions assessment, materials specification, building documentation and technology, and project management. Mike is a Commissioner with the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Jack Pontes, Master craftsman and founder of J. Pontes, Inc. Jack’s outstanding craftsmanship and dedication has earned him an enviable reputation in the field and a stream of commissions to restore many of city’s architecturally and historically significant buildings, including many brownstones in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
