Brooklyn Public Advocate Forum

December 18, 6:30 PM | First Unitarian Church

Approximately two dozen candidates are running for the office of New York City Public Advocate after Tish James, the current Public Advocate, won the election to become our next New York State Attorney General. A group of Brooklyn political clubs is sponsoring a public meeting to meet some of these candidates this Tuesday, December 18 at the First Unitarian Church at 119 Pierrepont Street. Ben Max, the executive editor of Gotham Gazette and Alyssa Katz of the Daily News editorial board will moderate the discussion. Candidates will introduce themselves, followed by a Q&A with questions presented by the participating political clubs.

Doors open at 6:30pm and forum begins at 7pm

The Public Advocate’s job is to act as a watchdog over the mayor and New York City agencies and to investigate complaints about city agencies. It is an elected position, and a special election is slated for February.
