This time next year New York City will have a new mayor, a new comptroller, four new borough presidents -- and Brooklyn Heights will have a new City Council representative. We are thrilled to announce that all 8 candidates for Brooklyn’s 33rd Council District will join our Annual Meeting. As always, the event is free and open to all, but advance registration is REQUIRED. Register here. We invite you to submit a specific question you would like to hear the candidates address during the meeting. Submit your question here. Learn more about the individual candidates and their platforms here.
This year, we will honoring local illustrator and designer Becky Carpenter for her work on behalf of the BHA and the Coalition for the BQE Transformation, professional singer and actor Peter Kendall Clark, whose operatic gifts helped raise our spirits during lockdown, and the late Martin Schneider, beloved Brooklyn historian and preservationist.
We will also honor the Arab-American Family Support Center, our partners in Brooklyn Heights Together, which raised and distributed over $50,000 to help local workers displaced from their jobs by the pandemic. We hope you’ll join us!
